How to sculpt perfect cheekbones with make up

Usually the cheek bones need lifting and the cheeks need to be streamlined and for this you will need an angled blusher brush, a blusher and a darker shade of blusher or a brown tone of blusher. It is also important to choose powdered products as with cream based ones, blending and controlling can be difficult.
1. Apply your blusher a. Using your angled blusher brush, press down on the blusher you want to apply with a slight sweeping motion to ensure that the right part of the brush is fully loaded with product. b. Tap your brush once, away from yourself to remove any excess powder. c. Using a fast sweeping motion, apply the blusher just under the cheekbones, creating a line between here and the middle of the ear. Blusher travels inwards and the area with the most colour will be where you choose to start, so bear this in mind when choosing your starting point. d. Ensure that the colour is slightly more intense than what you want the finished result to look like, as this will be slightly dulled when finishing with loose powder.
2. Sculpting When using make-up to sculpt you are essentially playing with light and shading techniques. So what do you need to create if you want to lift the cheekbones? The answer is a shadow - you want to create the illusion of a shadow under your cheekbones so that it appears to 'dip' in that area hence making the actual cheekbones look more sculpted, a. Choose the darker shade of blusher and apply in a line directly under the blusher line. b. Blend lightly to avoid there being a defined line between the blusher and the darker shade by lightly sweeping your brush along the line. This creates the illusion of a shadow which, in turn lifts the cheek bone and makes it look more defined and angled. c. For further lift and a more sophisticated sharp look, sweep the blusher upwards on the outer section (sweep from the ear towards the side of the head, towards the outer corner of the eyes).
To finish the cheeks, apply a small line of highlighter or white light reflective powder to the apple of the cheekbone. Finally when you have applied all your make-up, dust some loose powder to seal your make-up and you will see the intensity of the cheek colour become slightly duller, and therefore looking more natural.
